When I was younger I recalled reading in the news about Russia (Soviet Union) finally releasing records on a Korea Air Lines crash it "accidentally" shot down as it entered its air space. I also recall watching about the US accidentally shooting down Iran Air 655 some time during the Iran-Iraq war. These incidents come to mind with the shooting down of MH17 over Ukraine which now leads to the non-Manila infographic above.

Editor's Note: The infographic originally indicated 11 fatalities for MH17, it has been corrected to reflect 298 fatalities instead.
