July 2004

Showing entry 2 of 10 from the archive July 2004.

The long and winding road

Stopping by the road on a rainy evening

What road we're on, I do not know.
No houses here for miles to go;
No one to see me stopping here
To watch the rain slick up the road.

My little car knows we're quite far
To stop without a Caltex near
Between the woods and darkened road
The longest evening of my year.

The winding roads, weaved like a snake
Is something wrong with my car's brakes?
The only other sound's we hear
is his engine and noisy intake.

The road is long, the potholes deep,
But this picture I'll take and keep,
For miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Heavily borrowed from Robert Frost
