This woman appears to be set in flames as the rice cakes she is cooking gets a bit fiery. The rice cakes, primarily made of sticky rice, are cooked under the coconut shells (some use charcoal) for a few minutes.

Vintage glass pieces – bottles, jars, lamps – abound. Memories of things past and reminders that some things do last a life time regardless of how fragile it is.

Enlightenment

Summer is the time of many Christian celebrations. With late March comes the Season of Lent which ends around April with the Holy Week, May comes with Marian celebrations which culminates with the Flores de Mayo and Santacruzan. With all these ceremonies and of course fiestas, I just hope that the people get the enlightenment behind the processions and the sacrifices of it all.
