Typhoon Caloy battered Manila with strong winds felling trees, electric posts and stripping advertisments from their billboards. Power has been intermittent across the metro with outages lasting for hours in some areas. Flood water is a few inches high in some areas and two ships have been reported to have sunk due to the storm. The winds are now dying down and power has been restored in most areas.
