Inside Looking Out

The Sta Monica Church in the town of Sarrat is a beautiful red brick church of Baroque and Neo Classical style. The church is such famed for its beauty that former Philippine President Marcos' daughter, Irene, had her fairytale like wedding in the church complete with red carpet stretching for kilometers. A convent beside the Church tells of a much grimmer story though as it was the place where convicts during the Spanish occupation were kept and persecuted.

I was there during the weekend. The monastery was so creepy. Especially inside the garrote chamber.

we had our humanities art trip there. the church was charming and serene but the monastery is another story. it was so eerie as it spoke of a thousand deaths in its garrote chamber.
