Dog and Master
Guard Dog
A small puppy guards over his master, just one of thousands of the homeless people who live on Manila's streets, under overpasses and anywhere they can curl up for the night. The problem of over population in the metro areas is a common site and perhaps one of Manila's saddest and most painful characteristics. A larger population of the Metro's urban poor come from the province and have migrated here to have a better life but end up living in shanties or in street corners like this lady.
I love the colors in this picture, Peter. What is the street made of to give it that green color? It almost looks like oxidized copper.

The lady this bar was sleeping in front of had it’s floor painted green… and it was a bit faded

man, that photo goes straight where it should hit. maybe its the almost sacred eyes of the dog or the setting. certainly leaves an ache somewhere.

sometimes i wonder what your field of work is, since you’re always able to go out and take pictures of all sorts of stuff. oh, i still wonder pala.

A friend once told me… taking picture of the poor and the sick was like um molesting… no there was another word. I really don’t see it much that way really. But I could not swallow the thought of them staring at you thru your cam’s lenses.
