The Disappearing Guns

This is the entryway to Battery Grubbs and Battery Crockett, two guns that protect the northwest and southern portions of Manila Bay respectively. At a cost of about US$500,000 for construction of both guns, work for both spanned from 1905 to 1909. The two 10-inch guns are mounted on disappearing carriages and are located in the central part of the island.
