It's been awhile since we've reviewed new music (and much new music has flowed through since 2010) so it is just apt that we review something uber brand new: Taylor Swift's reinvention of herself through her latest single - Shake it Off. While the single is not so much a departure from her songs about relationships - yes the upbeat song is largely still about relationships - the sound is much, much different from what we expect from the country pop star. With hints from Toni Basil's 1981 hit single Mickey, one cannot help but wonder if Taylor is dropping the country from her country pop genre and going full blown pop. Anyway we're all excited to hear what else is in the rest of the album 1989 when it drops this October. For now, feel free to watch the music video above.

The single is available on Spotify and iTunes.
